Show a Product Recommendation or Gift with Purchase Campaign on a Specific Product Pages

This guide explains how to display a Product Recommendation or Gift with Purchase campaign on only one specific product pages in your store

To do this, you’ll:

  1. Create a new product template in your Shopify theme

  2. Add the campaign widget to that template

  3. Assign the template to the product you want

This ensures the widget does not appear on other products using the default template.

Before You Start

  • You must have theme editing access in Shopify

  • Your campaign (Product Recommendation or Gift with Purchase) should already be created

  • You should know where to get your widget code or app block

Step 1: Open the Theme Customizer

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes

  2. Click the Edit theme button

Step 2: Create a New Product Template (No Code)

  1. In the Theme Customizer, look at the page selector dropdown at the top

  2. Click the dropdown and select Products

  3. You’ll see a list of existing product templates

  4. Click Create template

  1. Enter a name for the new template
    (for example: Promotion Template)

  2. Click Create template

✅ Your new product template is now ready.

Step 3: Add the Campaign Widget to the New Template

Now you’ll add the widget only to this new template, so it won’t appear on other products.

  1. Make sure your new product template is selected in the page selector

  2. In the left sidebar, click Add block

  3. Add the Widget app block

  4. Place the widget in the desired section of the product page

  5. Click Save

🔒 Because the widget is added only to this template, it will not show on the default product template.

Step 4: Assign the New Template to Products

To show the campaign on specific products, you must assign the new template to them.

  1. Go to Products in your Shopify admin

  2. Open a product where you want the campaign to appear

  3. Scroll down to the Theme template section (right sidebar)

  4. Select your new product template

  5. Click Save

Step 5: Repeat for Additional Products (If Needed)

If you want the campaign to appear on multiple products:

  • Open each product individually

  • Assign the same new product template

  • Save the product

For example, if you want the campaign on 5 products, update the template for those 5 products only

✅ Final Result

  • Products using the new template will show the campaign widget

  • Products using the default template will NOT show the campaign

  • No coding required

  • Full control over where campaigns appear
